SUMMARY:5-day Piano holiday with Sam Haywood - mixed ability
DESCRIPTION:This 5-day piano holiday has proved so popular\, it’s now a regular fixture in our summer programme. This is our most relaxed course ever and a pianist’s dream Finchcocks stay: a 5-day 5-star Piano Holiday! \nThis extended piano retreat offers the chance to spend mornings at the piano in a 30-minute one-to-one lesson with the wonderful Sam Haywood\, as well as enjoying free practice-time. Afternoons will be devoted to leisure (and of course more piano if you’d like!) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUsually\, our course timetables are more focussed to structured learning. The Piano Holiday will be a musical escape duetting with plenty of relaxing! \nAfternoon/ evening activities will include (subject to weather and change): \n\nA guided tour of the Finchcocks gardens by our Head Gardener\nA morning swim in our outdoor heated pool\nA walk and visit to beautiful neighbouring Scotney Castle\nA tour of a typical Wealden (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) hop trail\nA group (garden) yoga/ Alexander Technique session\nPlenty of opportunity to play duets\nThe opportunity to book the Steinway recital room to (video)record your playing\nThe opportunity to take part in an informal guest performance in main hall on the family Bosendorfer\nFree access to Finchcocks music library\n\nAnd of course\, socialising with fellow piano enthusiasts for a whole week! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs usual\, everyone will have access to their own grand piano for the week including our new Steinway\, and have plenty of time to practise in our vaulted piano cellar. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnd of course\, it goes without saying that you can expect the usual! \nPiano holiday guests will: \n\nReceive daily one-to-one lessons.\nEnjoy access to play on our 9 grand pianos anytime between 7am and 8pm. (There are enough pianos to go round that everyone can play a piano at any given time.)\nExperience a private recital for course participants in the main hall of the family home\, performed by our tutor.\nJoin and socialise with a group 8 fellow piano enthusiasts during lunch and dinner.\nDine in style with lunches and three course dinners prepared by our fabulous chef.\nExperience the Finchcocks bubble\, hailed as a “paradise for pianists” by BBC Music Magazine and stay in a grade 1 listed country manor.\n\nPlus-ones are very welcome on our courses\, with a room surcharge dependant on whether they are a playing or non-playing guest.
