New arrivals!

New arrivals!

Exciting news here at Finchcocks! We have just welcomed two new beautiful grand pianos to the fleet.

It was time for two of our Broadwoods to retire, including the much-loved Bertha. In their place we welcome a silent Yamaha and a white Kawai baby grand, both in pristine new condition!

Installing pianos here at Finchcocks is not for the faint-hearted. It requires a crane, expertise and a lot of patience. Thursday was a sight to behold…

The Yamaha takes position in our entrance foyer. With the wonderful option of a silent mechanism, guests can play in privacy, hear their playing as a CFX concert grand or even a contrasting Bosendorfer! There’s also a metronome function and the possiblity to record your playing as a practice aid.

And the wildcard is our white Kawai. It’s been homed down in our piano cellar and is a wonderful exciting addition to our collection. For a baby grand, it offers a rewardingly confident, strong tone with beautiful clarity.

We thank Bertha and her colleague for their wonderful contribution to Finchcocks – as a piano school and museum – and wish them a very happy retirement in pastures new. Thanks also go to Alastair Laurence at Broadwood who has kindly loaned and lovingly maintained all our Broadwood pianos.
