5 tips for your first course

Warren & Nemiah

First time?

Here at Finchcocks, we let our students do the talking to show you how to prepare for you first course.

Here are their top tips for settling in and enjoying the weekend…

1.Don’t be nervous – we’re in this together!

The intimacy of our small cohorts, means you get to know other course participants well over the duration of the course. We believe this creates a welcoming and collegiate atmosphere to make music.

2. Be open-minded and try something new.

The courses are for YOU. We encourage you to have a go, and to push yourself to try what our tutors offer.

3. Have a goal. Or two, or ten.

Is it polishing up that piece you never quite mastered? Or that theory or technical question you never quite understood?

4. Do your homework!

Ok, we jest but, do bring along pieces, or sections that you would like to master or try out. The course is for you to take new and exciting things from.

5. Be prepared to be indulged

“the food, the wine and the company is just fabulous.” Janice, intermediate course

We certainly like to think so!
