PRACTISING THE PIANO WITH GRAHAM FITCH
Have you ever sat at the piano, uncertain as to what you should be doing in your practice time? Or wondered why it takes you so long to learn pieces? Would you like to eliminate mistakes and find a level of consistency and greater ease in your playing? Come along to Graham Fitch’s Practising the Piano weekend course and find answers to these questions and more.
Bring along pieces or passages you are struggling with, and we will explore solutions to your problems. The aim of this course is to inspire and inform upper intermediate level pianists (between grades 6-8) of all ages in a safe and supportive environment. Performance skills are not a requirement, so feel free to bring pieces that are in the learning stages or under development.
Each day typically starts with a workshop in the Finchcocks cellars. In the afternoons, there is time for private practice on one of our beautiful acoustic grand pianos and short sessions of individual tuition from Graham. In the later part of the afternoon, we convene for a masterclass, which involves a little bit of (very relaxed) performance in front of your classmates. At 7pm we have our pre-dinner talk or recital in the main house, which is a chance to relax and be inspired, before returning to the Coach House for dinner.
