Valentine’s special offer – partners come for free!

Although most people who join us for our piano courses come on their own, partners are always welcome, and we normally charge £250 per non-playing partner or £350 if they want to join in with the group sessions and use the grand pianos to practice.

Partners come for free on our February course!

As it happens our next course falls just after Valentine’s day, so for this course only, we’re allowing partners (playing or non-playing) to come for free.

Non-playing partners join in for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and are welcome to join the group for the evening recital on Saturday night. During the day, they are welcome to use the facilities of the Coach House (notably wi-fi, coffee and cake), or head out to explore the local area.

Surrounding area

Finchcocks is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is surrounded by hop gardens and rolling hills.

Our nearest neighbour, Scotney Castle, is a 14th century castle with a moat surrounded by 770 acres of parkland. It is run by the national trust, open every day and is an easy 20 minute walk away along Finchcocks’ private drive.

In the opposite direction, the pretty village of Goudhurst with its three pubs and two cafes is an hour on foot over spectacular countryside.

Just beyond Scotney Castle, Bewl reservoir is one of the largest areas of inland water in south east England and offers sailing, cycling and boat rides. It has a spectacular circular walk which takes the best part of a day with some idyllic picnic spots along the route.

Bedgebury pinetum, which is thought to have the world’s most complete collection of conifers, is a 10 minute drive away, and also has bikes for hire, beautiful woodland walks and a cafeteria that does a fantastic cooked breakfast.

Perfect valentines present?

Most of our guests had piano lessons at school but typically haven’t played very much since. Our courses are designed to inspire people to take up the piano again, with a strong emphasis on playing for enjoyment (rather than passing exams or practising scales!)

So if either you or your partner is keen to get back to the piano, please drop us a line. This next course is being run by Dave Hall and is designed for lower intermediates, so it would suit anyone from grades 1 – 4. It is worth noting that the groups are small, so we are normally able to make sure the workshops and masterclasses work for the full range of abilities of the guests on the course.
