Food at Finchcocks

Beetroot & goats' cheese

Finchcocks has long been a synonym for pianos and a paradise for pianists. One thing that also really deserves shouting about is the food and hospitality!

We are very lucky to have a wonderful team serving guests breakfasts to go, seated buffet style lunches and three course candlelit dinners.

Breakfasts

Prepared by Rebecca or Natalia, guests can choose from a continental style breakfast, fuelling up for the day with eggs, toast, panacakes, pastries, granola, yoghurt and fruit. Choose your preferred time, collect from the kitchen and enjoy at a location of your choice – with other guests in the piano cellar, back at your room, or even in the company of the Finchcocks chickens at a picnic bench!

The very talented Mark Churchward is responsible for all our main meal catering. Mark joined the Finchcocks team back in 2020 and boy, aren’t we glad he did! Having trained at the Ivy, London under Mark Hix, Mark went on to work with Gordon Ramsey at his Michelin starred Royal Hospital Road restaurant and Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons – moving on to become one of the head chefs in his Cheltenham restaurant. More recently, Mark has worked at Michelin starred Thackeray’s in Tunbridge Wells and opened two kitchens for them elsewhere in Kent.

Mark Churchward

Mark loves the creativity of preparing healthy, stylish, and above all delicious dishes for Finchcocks guests – as well as running his own private catering company the rest of the time.

Lunches

Prepared by Mark and served by Natalia, Rebecca or Heidi, lunches are a healthy and welcome break from intense piano learning and playing! The shared buffet style offers a lovely informal opportunity for group conversation and plenty of fuel for the afternoon classes.

Dinners

We aim to make dinners on our courses something special. Candlelit with wine free flowing, they hopefully provide an enjoyable icebreaker on the first night, and a wonderful treat at the end of a full day’s learning on the Saturday.

Allergies & dietary requirements

Please inform us whether you have any allergies, are pescetarian, vegetarian or vegan upon booking and we will do our best to accommodate.

Coach House dinner

Last but not least, don’t forget the cake! Baked freshly each day, afternoon tea and coffee is served with delicious, sweet pick-me-ups. If anything, it’s worth coming just to try sample all of the above!
